Christmas Was Sad...

My mother in law Jane passed away on Christmas Day. Jane has been living with us this year and she decided to spent Christmas with her daughter in Oregon. Bill put her on a plane to Oregon (45 min flight) on Tuesday the 23rd. Christmas Eve night she felt sick and had a really bad backache. Betty took her to the hospital where she suffered a major heart attack. Jane's main aeorta ruptured. She will be greatly missed. Jane always talked about her wonderful life and how she loved her kids and grandkids. I took care of her this year and was able to get to really know her. Jane had many stories and loved telling them. She was the perfect grandmother and mother in law. I never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She is now in the arms of her late husband again. We love you Jane.... fly high and we will all meet again. This picture was taken last week. Jane loved our dogs and this one (Sassy) was her favorite. The snow was so deep that the dogs got so wet going outside, Sassy knew that Grandma would towel dry her each time she came in the house. These two had a tight bond.

More Snow!!

Oh boy... we are still getting snow on top of the snow we already have and so far we are at 7-8 inches. The only problem is the airport has been canceling flights and we need to get Grandma on her flight to Oregon. She is living with us and I love her dearly but I need a weeks vacation from caring for her. She has erly dementia and it gets hard to keep a smile on your face when she forgets EVERYTHING and then argues with you when you correct her. Anyway I'm looking forward to Christmas morning with my boys and hubby alone enjoying our Christmas presents and not having to wait for her to get up, go pee, get her pills and coffee and bitch because its to early. Please let her plane take off so Her daughter can enjoy her for a week and I can enjoy my family for a week, thats all I want for Christmas. Here are a few more pictures of the snow.

Let It Snow !!

Oh boy we are getting some snow... so far about 3" and we are soooo loving this. My 3 pomeranians tried to eat each snowflake but gave up as the flakes were coming way to fast. We have our tree up and decorations outside. Now all I need to do is put gifts under the tree. Grandma Jane (who lives with us) is heading to Portland, Or. for Christmas with her daughter and family. This will leave us home with the boys and I have Christmas breakfast at my house and dinner at my son's home. We will enjoy the boys being home from school. Hope everyone is enjoying the days leading up to Christmas. Here are two of my Pomeranians ( Morgan & Daisy ) playing in the snow.

Scrapbooking !

My boys are going to be so mad at me. They hate pictures and that is what is going to happen today. I want to take pictures of them and lots of them. Joe especially hates pictures and Will is the one that loves to be in pictures. I will have a battle but I will win. Joe owes me big time.... I took him to town at 10:30pm last week to stand in line for "World of Warcraft". I took him the night before to pay for it so his name was on a copy. So.... I will use this to make him pose for all the pictures my little heart desires. I have a project and that is doing a mini scrapbook together of my boys. This is a small one that can be carried around in my purse. I bought this kit from www.mostuff.etsy.com my kit came yesterday and I'm anxious to take this online class. I will post a picture when it is done.

Driving The Freeway !

My hubby is soooo brave. Our 16 year old starts drivers ed tomorrow and he got his permit last week. Bill took Will out driving and even let him drive the freeway... YIKES ! I drove with him through town but thats enough for me for now. I have learned by listening to Will that he is nervous about driving to close to his school because there is a group of teenage boys that always try showing off behing the wheel and he is afraid to be driving anywhere near them. I think this is good, I know he is going to be cautious. I'm a chicken and it looks like I passed that on to my son... even as a baby he was cautious, never wanted to even try to climb out of his crib, never climbed on furniture, never ran off when we were outside, he was born scared of things. He always hated loud noises, would freak out in grade school over the fire alarm when they had fire drills. He was 9 before he could sit in the Kingdome and watch baseball. I remember him at 1 year freaking out because we wanted to go to our local carnival. As soon as we got him out of the van and he heard people screaming on the rides he started crying. We took him to Disneyland at 9 months and he hated the noise there too. He finally grew out of this scared of noise thing when he was about 8 or 9 thank god. Will's younger brother didn't have this problem thank goodness. The Drs just told me that his ears were sensitive. Now my baby is driving but is nervous about the other drivers, this may be a good thing.

WAY TO GO OBAMA !!!

Finally the day has arrived...Get out there and vote. I mailed mine in and loved the idea that I'm wasn't rushed, no one is waiting for me to leave the booth. I can take my time and refer back to the voters guide if I need too. Tonight the TV will be buzzing with results all night and my family will be there watching. I can also admit that the commercials and mud slinging campaigns won't be missed in my house. I'm going to get dinner done early so I can watch the results come in.
My son (Will) signed up for drivers ed last night. The class accepts 33 students and he was number 32. I drove him up to the school last night to sign up and thank goodness we did, he would have never made the class if he had signed up this morning. Can't believe this kid is going to be driving.... just 3 yrs ago he had kidney cancer and now he is cancer free and ready to drive. Thank the lord!

Fun Halloween Party

I didn't win any Halloween contest but I had fun getting all goofy and being able to walk in a store and not worry about how stupid I looked. I played bingo and sat with some really nice people.. I didn't win at bingo either. Once I got home it took an hour to get all the ribbons and rubberbands out of my hair. I took a long hot shower and it took forever to get the sparkles out of my hair. The 1st place winner was a cardboard porta potty that some guy walked around in. It was pretty cool but he didn't have to wear it all night so I thought that wasn't fair. He walked around with it for 10 mins then put it back in the corner.... hmmm and the rest of us were hot and uncomfortable. I will do more thinking next year.

Today is my youngest daughters 28th birthday . I started labor on Halloween with her and my older kids were so mad when they had to stop trick er treating early so I could go home. Janell Marie didn't make it into the world until noon the next day. She was such a good baby and we were all so happy to have her added to our family. Love you Janell!

Above is a picture of Grandma with Morgan, she loves petting the dogs and believe me the dogs love her too. All 3 of our poms fight for their turn on her lap. There have been several times I come in the room and all 3 of them are squeezed onto her chair just to be near her.

I'm a Newbie/Happy Halloween

Wow how easy was this.... to set up my blog that is. I'm a newbie to this blogging thingy. I love following other blogs thats for sure. I'm hoping this will give me an outlet to express my feelings and journal. I'm a mother of 6 kids and 6 grandkids. My 16 yr old son (Will) is now 2.5 years off chemo for kidney cancer (wilms tumor) right now he is N.E.D. ( No Evidence of Disease) for that we are so grateful and thankful! www.caringbridge.org/visit/williamluby My youngest is Joe.. he is my sweet boy, he walks to the beat of his own drum and I love his independence. My oldest is Julie and she is the mother of 3 boys, (Kris, Jake & Erik) one (Kris) of which is in the Air Force. Jason is my oldest son and he is a fireman in our small town of Snohomish WA. Jason has 2 kids (Bradley & Katie) I love his wife Kim! Jamie is my second daughter and her and her husband Josh have son (Jared). Then there is my youngest daughter (Janell) she has the nicest boyfriend right now (Justin). My husband is the reason I stay sane around here. They threw away the mold when they made him. This man can cook, do laundry, shuffle kids around and he just moved his mom home with us. I love my mother in law so I'm happy she is here. Jane is starting to be forgetful and needs some supervision but generally she can take care of herself. We have 3 Pomeranians.... Morgan 3yrs (middle picture), Sassy 2yrs (first picture), and Daisy 1yr (resting on the chair leg). Jane loves those dogs and they love her. Our dogs are treated like humans! I'm sure I'm not alone.

I'm the oldest of 9 kids and come from a family that fights and bickers non stop and I hate it. I have taken great pride in the way my kids treat each other and have respect for each other. My kids and hubby are my life and I love them dearly.

Happy Halloween!! I'm going to play "bingo" tonight and there is going to be a costume contest so I will see if I can get some pictures and download them later. I have a pair of clown PJ's and have sewn candy on them for starters... not sure what else I will be doing but I will get a picture. Have a safe Halloween! Love those kids and their costumes.
